Having a Heart for the House

peter rigo houseHaving a heart for the house, being committed to the house. When we talk about the house, every church is a house, it’s the house of God. And every house has different parents and a different personality. And when we talk about our house, it doesn’t mean it has to be the same as everybody else’s house. And when we talk about our house and the way God wants to work with us here, it doesn’t mean that we’re against anywhere else. It just means this is our house. Does that make sense?

So we like to talk about the vision of how God wants to move in your life in our house. When you come to our house, you’re welcome. But when you go to anybody’s house and yu’re visiting, you tend to fit yourself into what they want you to do. They don’t find you in the master bedroom crashed out on the bed for a little nap because you’re a guest. You don’t put your feet up where they don’t want you to, you don’t go in their fridge if they don’t want you to.

And the house of God is a place with priorities and order and authority and goodness. And when we honor the house, we honor God who’s building the house. And that allows us to manage many more lives just like you and mine so that we can be successful in leading people to Christ and leading people to grow in Christ. It doesn’t matter that you’re a babe or a seasoned veteran in Christiniaty–there is a place for you at One Community Church. There’s a place for you to fit in and grow. If you’re new to Christ, we’ll say that you’re in diapership. But we believing in you, and we can’t wait to see you grow and mature through diapership all the way to discipleship. And there are people all around you that want to be part of that. So I would encourage you to go to our website and view our podcast and come to our sermons because we want you to be a part of One Community Church. Not only that but we want you to become an integral part of what makes things happen here so that many more people like you can come in and find a home and find some rest and find some comfort and find salvation.
